Bandipora, July 01 (KNO): The residents of Ajas area in north Kashmir's Bandipora district on Wednesday complained that the hospital in the village is without proper road connectivity, thereby making them immensely particularly during emergency situations. The villagers told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) the new type primary health centre (NTPHC) was constructed several years ago but it is still without proper road connectivity. They said that they are being forced to carry ailing patients and expectant mothers on stretchers or on their shoulders to reach the hospital in absence of a proper road. "We have carried a lot of pregnant ladies on our shoulders to the hospital because it is without a proper approach road. We have to face a lot of inconvenience during emergency situations,” they said. The villagers said that during medical emergencies they have no other option but to carry patients on shoulders because ambulances can't reach the health centre in absence of the approach road. “We somehow manage during the day time but we face a tough time during night, whenever we confront a medical emergency," said Salman Ahmed, a local resident. He said that the approach for the health centre was approved only on papers as on ground the administration has failed to construct the approach road. The villagers said that they have many times brought the issues into the notice of concerned authorities but so far they have failed to act and redress their grievance. They appealed to the deputy commissioner Bandipora to personally look into the matter to address the grave issue. Deputy Commissioner Bandipora, Zahoor Ahmad Mir could not be reached for his comments after repeated attempts—(KNO)
